Singer Van Morrison finds himself facing a lawsuit from the Irish Government over his criticisms of Covid-19 mandates and policies.

This type of attack on free speech has been growing in momentum in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and other nearby regions.

From the article:

In the United States, this is clearly protected political speech. It is also subject to a higher standard of proof for defamation. The standard for defamation for public figures and officials in the United States is the product of a decision decades ago in New York Times v. Sullivan.

So long as Americans hold our politicians to task and exercise the courts, we may be able to hold back this tide of suppression. However, we should always remain vigilant and expect the enemies of freedom to lay seige against us at every angle.

A guide, on finding a man who has lost his way, brings him back to the right path—he does not mock and jeer at him and then take himself off. You also must show the unlearned man the truth, and you will see that he will follow. But so long as you do not show it to him, you should not mock, but rather feel your own incapacity.

Do not rely on following the degree of understanding that you have discovered, but simply think, “This is not enough”.
