Telegram is a wonderful communications tool. I am very glad to see that the demon of censorhip has yet to take possession of the platform.
Isn't it amusing how much the system panics when governments cannot control the narratives they use to subjugate their own people? These governments claim that narratives that are contrary to those disseminated by centralized media are "hate speech" and a "threat to democracy". This line of reasoning begs the following questions:
- What actually is "hate speech" other than language and narratives a government would want censored for political/control reasons?
- If totalitarian regimes are trying to protect "democracy", then what actually is democracy in the context of the everyday citizen?
