Last night, not wanting to get drawn into another season of reruns as the Christmas holidays draw closer I turned to my new-old friend Netflix. Looking over the 'continue waching' list I easily landed on one of my new found favorites "Black Mirror."  Now it has taken me several episodes to land on NOSEDIVE - - and surprisingly it is not 'new' but came out in October of 2016. In the trailer (post watching) the Hollywood spin is simplistic and naïve without being untrue.  With a novel beginning it squatted in my face as one of the most accurate and horrendous consequences (without involving the government/politics) of what a 'social credit system' can and will lead to.  Its tendrils are carefully threaded through modern society like a spiders web, just waiting for that moment we are drawn into the lair of our own destruction.

I highly recommend it. Just don't expect a happy ending.

A guide, on finding a man who has lost his way, brings him back to the right path—he does not mock and jeer at him and then take himself off. You also must show the unlearned man the truth, and you will see that he will follow. But so long as you do not show it to him, you should not mock, but rather feel your own incapacity.

Do not rely on following the degree of understanding that you have discovered, but simply think, “This is not enough”.
